- UFC 107 MEDICAL SUSPENSIONS RELEASED

The Tennessee Athletic Commission on Tuesday released medical suspensions for UFC 107: Penn vs. Sanchez, that took place Dec. 12 at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tenn.

The suspensions were posted with the Association of Boxing Commission’s official records keeper on mixedmartialarts.com.

18 competitors were suspended following their bouts, including Diego Sanchez, who sustained serious damage in his bid for BJ Penn’s lightweight title.

Below are the suspensions following the event:

• Diego Sanchez is suspended for 60 days with no contact and must be cleared by a physician pending the results of a CT scan.

• Frank Mir is suspended for 3 days with no contact.

• Cheick Kongo is suspended for 3 days with no contact.

• Jon Fitch is suspended for 60 days with no contact for 45 days.

• Kenny Florian is suspended for 60 days with no contact for 45 days unless a cut he sustained is cleared by a physician.

• Clay Guida is suspended for 45 days with no contact for 30 days unless a cut he sustained is cleared by a physician. He is suspended an additional 180 days for an eye injury he sustained and will not be licensed unless cleared by an ophthalmologist.

• Paul Buentell is suspended for 30 days with no contact for 21 days. He is also suspended indefinitely pending the results of an x-ray of his ribs.

• Alan Belcher is suspended for 30 days with no contact for 21 days.

• Wilson Gouveia is suspended for 45 days with no contact for 30 days.

• Matt Wiman is suspended for 30 days with no contact for 21 days. Additionally, he is suspended for 180 days due to a right hand injury and will not be licensed until it is x-rayed and cleared by a physician.

• Shane Nelson is suspended for 14 days with no contact for 14 days unless a cut he sustained is cleared by a physician.

• Johny Hendricks is suspended 3 days with no contact for 3 days.

• Ricardo Funch is suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days unless cleared by physician.

• Rousimar Palhares is suspended 3 days with no contact for 3 days.

• Lucio Linhares is suspended for 3 days with no contact for 3 days.

• Damarques Johnson is suspended for 3 days with no contact for 3 days.

• Edgar Garcia is suspended for 30 days with no contact for 21 days unless cleared by physician.

• Kevin Burns is suspended for 45 days with no contact for 30 days.

The event reportedly drew 13,896 fans for a live gate of $1.5 million, though the figures could not be independently verified. Tennessee Athletic Commission Director Jeff Mullen said official attendance and revenue information had not been released to him yet.
