Jose Aldo and Chang Sung Jung-Korean ZombieUFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo puts his belt on the line against Chan Sung Jung (aka the Korean Zombie) at UFC 163 on Saturday night in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

First, Aldo, Jung, and the rest of the fighters had to make weight on Friday at the HSBC Arena.

The champion and the challenger must weigh-in on weight or below to make a title bout official, and neither

“No matter what people might think, I’m confident in my ability to win,” said Jung after stepping off the scale.

The champion wasn’t lacking for confidence either.

“I feel more confident with the crowd because the push me forward all the time,” said Aldo about fighting in front of his home country fans. “I don’t care what (Korean Zombie) is doing, how he’s training. I can’t be beaten here at home.”

Lyoto Machida and Phil Davis square off in the night’s co-main event in a pivotal light heavyweight bout, the winner making a strong claim for a title shot.

Machida and Davis each stepped on the scale at 205 pounds even.

The only fighter having difficulty making weight was John Lineker, whose flyweight fight with Jose Maria Tome is supposed to kick of the UFC 163 pay-per-view. He stepped on the scale at 129 pounds. Lineker was given two hours to try and cut down to the 126-pound limit for their non-title bout.

No way I would pay for this card.

Is it even LEGAL to charge for this card? I’d rather pay for the Bellator Rampage vs Tito PPV than this junk card…and I ain’t paying for that crap either.

I think the UFC would do themselves better to just have the two main card bouts and then have the Octagon girls strip tease on a pole…especially the new Brazillian babe.

AWFUL card but sometimes the worst cards have the best fights

      • TheCerealKiller

True, but I’m not buying it to find out.

          ….nor am I.

      • Gary Fredericks

        That is true.

This card was messed up by injuries. The main event was going to be a sick fight but pettis got injured, also kos vs maia got scrapped due to injury. In some ppl eyes the original card still is not worth the money, but i think it was good enough. Also since ufc got back to brasil, all the cards were amazing so far.

This card has been wrecked from injury yes, I agree. What I disagree is on the price. I would buy it if it had at least two more fights that interest me outside of Machida/Davis. Aldo/Zombie might be a good one, but I am gonna predict Aldo finishes him quickly. Hard enough to beat the guy at all, let alone in Brazil.

      Its legal in the USA

    Zombie! Zombie! Zombie!

Yes Aldo v Pettis would of been sick, but they may see each other down the road. Dragon v Mr. Wonderful is a nice match up. I will be watching but not paying, going to a buddies pad everyone kickin in $ 5 – 10 bucks for the fights and beer! Or Buffalo Wild wings has it for free as well..
