Gaining a reputation for being one of the most controversial figures to ever compete on “The Ultimate Fighter,” season 8’s Junie Browning will have a tough test in his next fight, as he is set to square off against American Top Team submission specialist Cole Miller at the UFC Fight Night 18 event currently slated for April 1.
The fight was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com on Wednesday by sources close to fight.
Hailing from the bluegrass state of Kentucky, Browning made a name for himself during The Ultimate Fighter season 8 with his brash behavior, drinking, and generally bad behavior. The catalyst to many escalated situations in the house, Browning eventually lost to Efrain Escudero in the show’s semifinal match-ups, but redeemed himself at the TUF 8 finale defeating former housemate David Caplan by submission.
Now working out of Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, Browning will step into deep waters with his next fight as he faces off against Cole Miller, who is also an “Ultimate Fighter” alum. He is currently 3-1 in the UFC and coming off a win over Jorge Gurgel at UFC 86 in July. Miller trains at American Top Team and has long been considered a top prospect coming out of the camp.
The UFC has made no official announcement about the April 1 UFC Fight Night event, but MMAWeekly.com previously reported another bout set for that card as season 8 Ultimate Fighter winner Efrain Escudero meets Jeremy Stephens in a lightweight contest.
