The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale on Sunday night is the second of back-to-back UFC events at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas this weekend. Season coaches Frankie Edgar and B.J. Penn headline the card, fighting for the third time in their storied careers.
This fight, however, will be at featherweight, a full class lower than their first two bouts at 155 pounds.
There had been concerns when the match-up was made about Penn, in particular, making weight. He had fought at much heavier weights throughout his career, this being the first time coming all the way down to the 145-pound class.
Just after weighing in, Edgar said he’ll give Penn no opportunity to call his name out anymore.
“He keeps calling my name,” Edgar said. “I’m going to put him away on Sunday.”
Penn told the UFC Expo crowd he came back and continues to fight for them.
“I’m ready,” Penn said. “I’m here to give it my best shot.”
The fight card also features the TUF light heavyweight final between Corey Anderson and Matt Van Buren, as well as the middleweight final between Dhiego Lima and Eddie Gordon.
