23-Chris-Holdworth-TUF-18-Finale-w-478x270Chris Holdsworth finished Davey Grant in the second round of their TUF 18 Finale bout, becoming the TUF Season 18 men’s winner on Saturday night in Las Vegas.

Holdsworth slapped on a rear-naked choke, earning the win at the 2:10 mark of the second round.

“This has been a long six months,” Holdsworth said in his post-fight interview. “HWPO, baby – hard work pays off.”

Holdsworth and Grant were scrappy from the start. Grant pressed his opponent against the cage until the final minute of the opening round where Holdsworth brought the fight to the ground. From there, Holdsworth worked from guard and earned points with ground and pound.

Holdsworth landed a clean head kick to open the second round, getting the fight to the ground shortly after. Holdsworth then secured Grant’s back, sinking in the rear-naked choke for the finish and The Ultimate Fighter trophy.

With the win, Holdsworth improves his overall MMA record to 5-0.
