Ultimate Fighter Team Nelson coach Ron Frazier blogs this week about a controversial decision, and how he believes some judges should be fired on the spot after a bad call

Week 7 finally fireworks in the house leads to a fight.

Matt Secor and Michael Hill went at each other in the house, so as Team Nelson regained control of the pick with Colton Smith’s win over Eddy Ellis. Michael Hill got his chance to fight. He picked Matt Secor, while both are confident neither fighter has a ton of experience.

All the histrionics in the house seemed to surround Team Carwin’s Matt Secor, who seems very good at pushing the needle on the other team. So far he has gotten under Julian Lane’s skin, tried to get under Colton Smith’s skin and got it going with Michael Hill.

Heading into the house Team Nelson really liked Michael Hill because he would fight anyone it does not matter to him. After getting him in the house we saw how raw he was. He has only been fighting for about 2 and half years. Spent some of that injured so not able to train. So far in his young career he has been getting by on being strong, hitting hard and having good cardio.

Cause of his inexperience the show’s format is not conducive to guys like Michael being able to shine. When you get about three training sessions to work on a game plan which maybe counter intuitive to what his skills set are. Michael is a free swinger who wants to brawl, which could play into the hand of Matt.

Matt struggled to get in the house with his fight vs. Max Griffin. Max’s athletic ability gave him trouble but to Matt’s credit he wore Max down a submitted him in the 3rd round. Michael has a similar skill set.

We know Team Carwin was expecting Mike to come out guns blazing get up underneath and take him down. What we wanted from Mike to control the center of the cage pick his shots and keep the fight standing.

R1: Neither fighter looked comfortable, Matt’s ground game is ahead of striking but he is a Jits guy not a wrestler. So he is looking to tie up and pull ground than to hit a single or double leg on you. Mike was trying to hold back from being overzealous and making it easy to be taken down. Matt lands the only punch he threw in the round a nice over hand right. No damage done well not to Mike anyways.

Mike landed a couple kicks nice right hand body shot. They fight gets to the ground on a stuffed shot attempt by matt, who sits out and pulls guard. Mike is trying to control Matt while in his guard. Lands a few shots but neither fighter have or is doing much in this round.

R2: Matt gets the fight where he wants it back on the ground. He control Mike there for most of the rd. Mike does a good job of defending his back. Matt winks at the cameras or teammates but should have tried harder to finish the fight. Clearly Matt’s round.

R3: Mike started well in the round knowing he needs it. Was in Matts guard for part of the rd did not do a whole lot of damage. Matt gets back control again. Controlled the majority of the round. I had Matt winning that round thus the fight.

Well the judges thought different.

They gave Michael Hill the round thus the fight he moves on. I have no clue of what judges are looking for. It is a complete joke. Some of these judges should be fired on the spot. Having said that I was not too upset over this, I thought Nic was screwed out of a 3rd rd with Igor who was gassed and probably the fight. So it evened out. Team Nelson maintains control of the picks.

Finally one of Roy’s guest coaches were featured former light heavy weight champ and season 1 winner Forrest Griffin. I think the guys learned a few things from him. And with winning fights moral seems high.

Will we keep control tune in Friday night on FX. You can follow me twitter @ronfrazier22, e mail me Ronf@houseofryu.com or stop by The House Of RYU if you are in
