Posted on by MMAWeekly.com Staff

Sean-Strickland-Monstro-Photos-1069An injury has forced Tor Troeng out of his scheduled UFC 171 bout with Bubba McDaniel. Undefeated King of the Cage middleweight champion Sean Strictland has stepped up on short notice to face McDaniel. UFC officials announced the opponent change on Monday.

Strictland (13-0) last competed in August 2013, defeating Matt Lagler by technical knockout in the closing seconds of the opening round. The 23-year-old will be making his UFC debut.

McDaniel (21-7) made his way to the UFC through The Ultimate Fighter 17. He defeated Gilbert Smith by submission in his promotional debut in April 2013. He’s coming off a loss in his last outing to Brad Tavares at UFC Fight Night 27.

UFC 171 takes place at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on March 15. Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler fight for the vacant welterweight title in the event’s main attraction.  McDaniel vs. Strickland will be part of the preliminary card that airs on UFC Fight Pass.

Bubba McDaniel is terrible and has zero business fighting in the UFC. Bubba couldn’t even win his TUF fights and Bubba stunk up the TUF show. Bubba is a loser of epic proportions and a joke? get this bum off the UFC shows.
