Top flyweights John Moraga and Jussier Formiga will square off at UFC on FOX 13 on Dec. 13 at the U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix. UFC officials announced the bout on Monday.

The 125-pound match-up stands in stark contrast on a card that is loaded with heavyweight bouts, including Junior dos Santos vs. Stipe Miocic, Alistair Overeem vs. Stefan Struve, and Matt Mitrione vs. Gabriel Gonzaga.

Moraga (15-3) was a title challenger little more than a year ago, but obviously was unsuccessful in his bid to take the belt from Demetrious Johnson, who headlines this weekend’s UFC 178 fight card.

He has since alternated wins and losses, defeating Dustin Ortiz before losing to John Dodson, and then submitting Justin Scoggins recently in Brazil.

Like Moraga, Formiga (17-3) suffered a UFC defeat at the hands of John Dodson. He has since gone 3-1 in the Octagon, including back-to-back victories over Scott Jorgensen and Zach Makovsky in his last two bouts.

In a featherweight addition to the card, British fighter Ian Entwistle (8-2) takes on former MFC champion Anthony Birchak.

Sweet, The title fight and Dodson fight were good for Moraga, he had holes in h his game but each time he’s bounced back improving every out.

Formiga looked awkward in his Ufc debut but since has looked almost like a viable title contender (if you forget about the whole head but thing).

I honestly like this match up a lot and look forward to these men getting showcased on the main card
