Under the new ownership of Jeff Aronson, Titan FC had one of its biggest years ever in 2014.
Firstly, moving to CBS Sports Network for their broadcasts to signing some of the best free agent fighters available, Titan FC made moves to establish itself as one of the top promotions in the country.
The company’s growth even surpassed Aronson’s own expectations.
“From purchasing Titan right around January to now finishing out December, we got six shows in and the fights got better as the roster got bigger,” Aronson told MMAWeekly.com. “During that stretch of time, I think Titan had more pure growth than any other promotion in the country.
“From where we started to where we ended the year, I feel we’re one of the top three or four promotions in the country. I think it’s been massive gains.”
Aronson is particularly happy with the talent that TFC has managed to showcase in his first year of ownership.
“If you would have told me we would have had a whole host of top guys signed, I would have asked if you were crazy,” said Aronson. “I never would have believed that I’d be able to compile this type of roster in this amount of time.”
There was one fighter in particular that Aronson felt had a good year in Titan FC, among other standout fights in 2014.
“I think Desmond Green and Miguel Torres (at TFC 31) was a great fight,” said Aronson. “Desmond emerged as a star that night and the media he has gotten has just been phenomenal.
“When Mike Ricci absolutely dismantled Jorge Gurgel (at Titan FC 27) comes to mind. And I think the fight where Walel Watson came back against Anthony Gutierrez (at Titan FC 30) was probably the comeback fight of the year.”
Looking ahead to 2015, Aronson feels that Titan FC will only get bigger and better.
“I think next year you are going to see Titan on an even bigger platform,” said Aronson. “That’s a very bold statement considering where we are.
“The Mobile Aerofest night of champions show in March is going to be an amazing event for us. I think fans can expect more and having every event eclipsing the one before. We really want to give the fans the number one fan and fighter appreciation league in the country.”
