After more than seven years away, Jeff Curran is returning to the UFC.
The one-time WEC featherweight and bantamweight has signed a new multi-fight deal with the promotion with his first fight expected to be announced in the coming days.
Curran last fought under the Zuffa umbrella in 2009, but four straight losses in the WEC saw the “Big Frog” exit the organization.
After that time, Curran went 4-1 including wins in his last two fights. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt has also made no secret that he wanted back in the UFC, campaigning on Twitter over the last few months.
Now he gets his wish.
Curran will enter a tough bantamweight division and is expected to return to the Octagon later this year. Details on his first opponent should be released soon.
