Terry Etim Out of UFC on Fox 4

Joe Silva’s phone just never stops ringing.

The latest call to the UFC matchmaker involves UFC on Fox 4 fighter Terry Etim who is out of his scheduled bout against Joe Lauzon on Aug 4.

The injury was confirmed on Tuesday night’s broadcast of UFC Tonight.

Etim was expected to face Lauzon on the undercard of the upcoming show eminating from Los Angeles, but will now be forced to wait until a later date to return to action.

The nature of Etim’s injury was not disclosed at the time.

The UFC will now search for a replacement to face Lauzon on the UFC on Fox 4 show. MMAWeekly.com will have more information on the new fight when it becomes available.

  • With Etim out, maybe Lauzon can be pulled to await Melvin Guillard. I would love to see those guys fight again considering how much trash talking they have been doing to each other.

    Too bad – I loved this fight, but I think Varner is a great replacement. That win over Barboza was…umm…eyebrow-raising?

    If I had only seen that fight, then I would conclude that Lauzon is going down. However, with Varner’s history, this fight is quite compelling. Hard to pick.
