Strikeforce Video: Scott Coker Breaks Down Jan. 7 Event, Gina Carano’s Return

LAS VEGAS – Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker didn’t plan on celebrating New Year’s in Vegas. He’s too old, he says.

Coker’s Vegas celebration will more likely take place following the Jan. 7 Strikeforce fight card, where Luke Rockhold will defend his middleweight title against Keith Jardine. In addition, “King Mo” Muhammed Lawal will fight Lorenz Larkin in a light heavyweight bout that, according to Coker, has strong title implications.

In this exclusive one-on-one interview, Coker talks to MMAWeekly.com about the Strikeforce event in Vegas, and also expresses his confidence in Gina Carano’s return to the cage.

    Here’s my question: If Rockhold loses, does that raise the prestige of Keith Jardine or lower the prestige of the Strikeforce Middleweight title?

    Will be interesting to see how Jardine looks at 185lbs. The guy is a gamer and always comes to fight. Should be a good one.

    Carano is done. She might hint at fighting again but she ain’t coming back.

    I’m getting tired of hearing the “She’s a fighter at heart, she will be back, I know it”
