LAS VEGAS – Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold continues fighting for the respect of MMA followers. His teammate, “King Mo” Lawal, says Rockhold is a top-three middleweight in the world, but many argue against that notion. All he can do is prove his place and he’ll look to do that at Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine this Saturday in Las Vegas.

In this one-on-one interview, Rockhold tells he’s ready to beat Keith Jardine like nobody’s beaten the UFC veteran before.

Fighting for Respect? hard to gain any when you defend your belt against a mid carder who fights for the first time at 185. But at the same time its not his fault its more StrikeForce who barely has any talent left.

Yeah, not sure how they are going to use Strikeforce. Most MMA podcasts anticipate it as a feeder league, as the UFC has been stripping it for parts, so to speak.

I’m interested to see how Rockhold would do in the UFC. It’s really hard to tell with Strikeforce fighters. His fight with Jacare was pretty impressive. It showed he could go five and still have some left in the gas tank, and before that fight, the common wisdom was that Jacare would be able to hold his own in the UFC. What’s that say about a guy who dominates Jacare?

I feel bad for Rockhold after such an impressive victory, its not really fair to him to fight Jardine, fresh off of SharkFights glory, but I guess its just a sign of the times that a Strikeforce belt must be used as a pass into the UFC now.
