In the spirit of giving the fans access to every fight possible, Strikeforce will now broadcast the preliminary fights for the upcoming Sept 10 show in Cincinnati, OH as well as the future Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix finals show on HDNet.
In addition to the preliminary fights being aired on HDNet, the premium cable station will also broadcast the weigh ins for each event as well as host an ‘Inside MMA’ segment from the arena for pre fight coverage.
“As we continue to showcase some of the sport’s up-and-coming talent on our prelims, we’re excited to be able to air them live on HDNet,” Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said. “We’re excited to give Strikeforce fans even more access to great fights.”
The upcoming Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix semifinals show will be the first to air on HDNet on Sept 10 with five fights on the broadcast.
Light heavyweight Mike Kyle takes on Marcos Rogerio De Lima, former Strikeforce champion Rafael ‘Feijao’ Cavalcante against Yoel Romero, Brazilian striker Evangelista ‘Cyborg’ Santos faces Strikeforce newcomer Jordan Mein and Amanda Nunes meets Alexis Davis in a women’s bout.
Strikeforce officials have stated that one more bout is expected to air on the network once it is finalized.
The four fights will air on HDNet starting at 8pm ET/5pm PT.
The Mark Cuban owned network will also air the preliminary fights for the upcoming Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix finals, but a date and location have not been determined for that show just yet.
