Round 1:Mein using his strikes good early, and it doesn’t take long for Woodley to shoot in and grab for the single leg. Mein is able to fend off the takedown and the referee eventually restarts in the center. Woodley grabs the takedown once again and lands it this time, working from inside of Mein’s guard. Mein trying to scramble, but Woodley maintains control. Woodley continues to work for strikes, but Mein does a great job of reversing and getting back to his feet.

Round 2: Big overhand right from Woodley tags Mein to start round 2. Clinch against the cage, as Woodley gets the takedown. Woodley grinding Mein on the ground, while Mein fires back with elbows from the bottom. Basically five straight minutes of Woodley controlling Mein on the ground, staying busy enough to avoid a stand up

Round 3: Mein goes for a jumping knee but gets caught by Woodley and taken back to the mat. Woodley continues to just work and grind away on the mat. Mein tries for a keylock from the bottom, but after a few moments and over 3 minutes on the ground, the referee decides to stand them up. The fighters stay in the clinch until the final horn sounds.
