Strikeforce on Tuesday announced the addition of two more fights to its May 15 fight card, Strikeforce St. Louis: Heavy Artillery. The event takes place at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo., and will live at 10 p.m. ET on Showtime (delayed on the West Coast).
Antwain Britt (11-3) and Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante (8-2) will battle it out in a light heavyweight bout. Both are angling for a shot at the new 205-pound division Strikeforce champion, Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal.
Britt enters the bout on the heels of a win over Scott Lighty in December, while Cavalcante defeated Aaron Rosa the month before that.
Also announced was a lightweight clash between Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro (20-3), once considered among the top 155-pound fighters in the world, and rising Strikeforce star Lyle Beerbohm, who is undefeated in 13 professional bouts.
A heavyweight title tilt between Strikeforce champion Alistair Overeem and Brett Rogers heads Strikeforce St. Louis. The main card also features the return of former UFC champion Andrei Arlovski as he squares off with Antonio Silva.
