**Strikeforce: Evolution Weigh-in Photos**
Strikeforce closes out the year with the return of one its most popular fighters, former middleweight champion Cung Le. He steps into the cage on Saturday night across from Scott Smith. The lightweight title will also be settled as champion Josh Thomson attempts to defend against the fighter he took the belt from, interim champion Gilbert Melendez. The fighters weighed in Friday afternoon at the Marriott in San Jose, Calif.
Neither main event fighter had trouble with the scale. Cung Le, now minus the middleweight belt, weighed 184 pounds, while Smith tipped the scale at 185.5.
Melendez stripped down to notch his mark on the scale at 154 pounds, as did the champion, Thomson, who weighed in at 153 pounds. There was a little health jawing between the two when they squared off for photographers, but they have been friends over the years and clasped hands before exiting the stage.
Former UFC fighter Matt Lindland and Dream veteran Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza had no issues making weight.
Mike Whitehead, who last fought at light heavyweight, tipped the scale at 261.5 pounds to welcome Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal to Strikeforce in a heavyweight bout. Lawal weighed in at 218.5 pounds.
