Strikeforce returns home to San Jose, Calif., for Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Noons II at the HP Pavilion on Saturday night. Welterweight champion Nick Diaz faces K.J. Noons in a main event rematch to top the bill.
The fighters for the card weighed in later Friday afternoon at the venue.
Diaz had taken a couple of bouts at higher weights prior to winning the title in a fight with Marius Zaromskis in January, but had no trouble making the 170-pound limit on Friday. He stepped on the scale at 169.5 pounds.
Noons, long looking forward to a rematch with the man he defeated when the two fought for the short-lived EliteXC promotion, had no trouble either. Typically fighting at 155 pounds, Noons weighed in at 169 pounds.
Strikeforce women’s welterweight champion Sarah Kaufman is also defending her belt on Saturday night. She takes on 135-pound first timer Marloes Coenen, who is coming off of a loss to Cris “Cyborg” Santos earlier this year.
Kaufman stepped on the scale at 134.2 pounds, while Coenen had no trouble hitting the limit, weighing 134 pounds.
