Three fights in seven weeks.
That’s where Ovince St. Preux finds himself after accepting a bout against Ron “Abongo” Humphrey for Strikeforce Challengers 13, which takes place Jan. 7 in Nashville.
Strikeforce officials confirmed the bout to MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday. It was first reported by ESPN.com.
The bout is a late addition to the card after a slot opened up due to an injury to Yancy Medeiros. The undefeated Hawaiian had to withdraw from the card after suffering a knee injury. He was slated to face John Salter.

St. Preux (9-4) has been on a tear of late. He won all six of his fights in 2010, most recently on Dec. 4 against seasoned veteran Benji Radach. As mentioned, this will be his third fight in a seven-week stretch. A win here would likely propel him into the upper ranks of the promotion.
Starting his career at 6-0, Humphrey could be fighting for his roster spot with this fight. Although he has an impressive 7-2 record, Humphrey has lost two of his last three fights, sandwiching a win over George Bush with losses to Brett Rogers and Mike Kyle.
