A women’s welterweight bout pitting Julie Kedzie against Amanda Nunes at Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum on June 18 in Dallas has been sidelined. MMAWeekly.com sources confirmed an earlier report by MMADiehards.com nixing the fight.
Nunes had to pull out of the bout due to a fractured foot, leaving Kedzie in limbo.
Strikeforce is looking for a replacement, but its unclear if a suitable opponent can be found on such short notice. If not, Kedzie would be moved to a future card.
Kedzie (16-8) is on an impressive four-fight winning streak that includes a victory over EliteXC veteran Kaitlin Young and Sarah D’Alelio, who is fighting Gina Carano on the June 18 fight card.
Kedzie’s preliminary bout with Nunes was scheduled to air live on HDNet, leading up to the Showtime telecast of the main card.
