Caros Fodor vs. Pat Healy

Strikeforce officials on Thursday added a lightweight bout pitting Caros Fodor and Pat “Bam Bam” Healy to the Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey fight card slated for March 3 in Columbus, Ohio.

Fodor (7-1) has been on a tear since arriving in the Strikeforce organization. He has won five consecutive fights for the promotion, capping the streak off with wins over highly touted James Terry and Justin Wilcox in his two most recent bouts.

Healy’s (26-16) only stumble in five Strikeforce bouts was to former lightweight champion Josh Thomson. He has currently won three straight including derailing Lyle Beerbohm and an impressive submission of Maximo Blanco.

Both fighters have been rocketing through the promotion’s lightweight division with the winner of this fight likely putting himself among the immediate contenders to Gilbert Melendez’s lightweight title.

This card is not looking good at all. Doesn’t sound like Cormier will be ready to go. I saw an interview earlier where he said his hand hasn’t been cleared yet. They need to figure this one out and do so quickly. 2 chick fights on the main card is disastrous enough, no way they can have a chick fight for the main event and do well at the gate or on TV.

Here’s the televised card according to MMA Weekly:

    Main Bouts (on Showtime):
    -Josh Barnett vs. Daniel Cormier
    -Miesha Tate vs. Ronda Rousey
    -K.J. Noons vs. Josh Thomson
    -Paul Daley vs. Kazuo Misaki
    -Sarah Kaufman vs. Alexis Davis

if you think thats bad how about this…barnett v. cormier ISNT even part of the card…cormiers hand isnt fully healed or at least he hasnt made any official statement stating hes ready to fight and considering this is the biggest fight of his career, 6-7 weeks is certainly not enough time to prepare…

Isn’t that what I just said?

We have since confirmed that Barnett vs. Cormier will not take place on the March 3 card in Columbus.

    Sorry folks!

Only 6 weeks to go, they better figure out another main event. This card is doomed if they headline it with girls (unless the cage is filled with jello or baby oil).

Barnett vs. someone I guess. Maybe Bigfoot Silva.

This is what happens when UFC sucks the juice out of a promotion.

SF had a solid HW division a year ago.

What will happen to Barnett after the HW division disappears? I know he wants to go back to the UFC. But Dana has so much influence over there that he could just refuse to sign anyone that he doesn’t like for any reason, whether performance based or otherwise.

I like this card. I for one am looking forward to the “chick fights” :)
