Stout and Hominick Victorious at TKO 27
At the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, current TKO lightweight champion Sam Stout successfully defended his title with an armbar victory over Jay Estrada. With the win, Stout avenges his first professional loss in MMA and rebounds from a recent defeat to Kenny Florian at the Ultimate Fighter 3 Finale.
Estrada came out aggressive early on, utilizing good jabs and takedowns. In the second, the momentum changed as Estrada began to fatigue. After reversing a takedown, Stout used his top position control to eventually secure an armbar.
Former TKO featherweight champion Mark Hominick earned a unanimous decision over late replacement Samuel Guillet. Hominick threw strong low kicks that eventually wore his opponent down.
With the win, TKO President Stephane Patry announced a rematch between Mark Hominick and current featherweight champion Hatsu Hioki would take place on February 9th.
