Stefan Struve is Officially a Giant, Believes a Win Puts Him in the Top 5 UFC Heavyweights

Stefan Struve heads into Saturday’s UFC on Fuel TV 5 in Nottingham, England, brimming with confidence. He’s riding a three-fight winning streak and believes that he’s about to defeat a man that he believes, much like himself, is a Top 10 caliber fighter.

With a victory over undefeated Stipe Miocic at UFC on Fuel TV 5, Struve feels like he is among or close to being among the Top 5 heavyweights in the division.

But can he gets past Miocic? Struve sure seems to think so.

I respect all the guys in the HW division but I don’t see anyone beating Cain, JDS or Overeem. Those guys can only cancel each other out. You got the wrestler, the boxer and the kickboxer. All top of the line.

true, he lost to jds, nelson and browne so theres atleast 3 guys that should be ranked ahead of him. The when you add cain, alistair, werdum, mir, big nog, etc. i dont see how struve would be top 5

I think he might be thinking in terms of who is in title contention rather than the best, and if he beats Stipe its likely he is among five people being considered for that after Cain. I mean he is 9th in the Top 10 rankings, and at least five people definitely wont be title contenders (JDS as hes actual champ, Velasquez as he will have had his two shots, Mir as he just lost, Barnett as he just lost, and Nogueira as he lost and likely wouldnt take the fight anyway). That means Struve is one of the top five next in line.
