Masakazu Imanari will be making a return to Cage Rage to face Jean Silva on September 22nd. The deal was inked over the weekend and Dave O’Donnell was able to confirm the bout at the Contenders show in London. Imanari is the #6 Featherweight in the MMAWeekly World MMA Rankings.

The bout will mean that Silva faces a weight cut from lightweight in order to compete for the Cage Rage World Featherweight belt. Silva was in attendance at Contenders and is currently walking around at 69 kilos (152 lbs), so the cut doesn’t appear to be that far off from the 66 kilos (145 lbs) featherweight limit.

The Cage Rage 23 card is now complete and this bout serves to add more international flavor to the event. Expect fireworks between the two as Silva will bring his trademark wildness to the cage and Imanari will provide the unorthodox submissions.
