Shine Fights is putting together the final touches on their first event of 2011, and the first fight confirmed for the card will be former UFC fighters Rolles Gracie and Mike Ciesnolevicz squaring off in a heavyweight contest.
The fight was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the match-up on Wednesday, with bout agreements issued for the January fight card.
Gracie (3-1) hasn’t fought in MMA since his loss to Joey Beltran in his one and only UFC fight, but the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter is ready to get back in action and improve upon that performance.
Looking to keep Gracie from getting back on the winning track will be former UFC and IFL fighter Mike Ciesnolevicz (18-4) who comes into the January fight after a win in his last bout in September.
The two heavyweights will square off in a fight that is expected to take place Jan 8 as a part of the next Shine Fights offering. While no venue or location has been confirmed for the event, former “Ultimate Fighter” winner Efrain Escudero is also expected to make his Shine Fights debut on the card.
MMAWeekly.com will have more information about the Jan 8 Shine Fights card as it becomes available.
