Sean McCorkle’s run with the UFC has come to an end.
The heavyweight who burst onto the scene after a tireless internet campaign has been released from the promotion after suffering back to back losses in the Octagon.
Sources close to McCorkle confirmed his release with MMAWeekly.com on Friday. FiveOuncesofPain.com initially reported the news.
Always entertaining, McCorkle made a great debut in the UFC, submitting former Pride fighter Mark Hunt in his home state of Indiana at UFC 119.
McCorkle then found himself in a co-main event slot for his next fight against Stefan Struve, and while he came close to finishing the lanky heavyweight in the opening minutes of their match-up, eventually he succumbed to strikes.
McCorkle closed out his UFC run with an fairly uninspired performance against Christian Morecraft at UFC Fight Night 24 in Seattle before receiving his UFC release.

I like the guy, he stirred the pot and got the fans involved. Hope he gets called back.

Haha. Good riddance you ugly bastard!
This guy was a complete joke. Taking almost the FULL 5 minutes to rest after the low blow. He was just taking his time. The guy’s a pussy.
Bye!
