If there’s one thing you can always say about Scott Smith, it’s that he is an exciting fighter.

Win, lose, or draw, Smith comes out to battle and that’s how he’s always going to be.

The Strikeforce middleweight says he looks up to fighters like Chris Lytlte and Chris Leben who always go out there to perform, have fun, and put on a ‘Fight of the Night’.

Check out the one on one video interview with Scoth Smith ahead of his fight this Saturday night in Ohio.

Going out there to perform will not get you money in the long run.

Chris Leben is one of those guys that Zuffa loves but will most likely end up no where after his career is over with lingering health issues.

Chris Lytle has retired and to that end I want to wish him the best luck. But honestly, how much did he make from taking all that beating for 10+ years. Zuffa made money. Lytle didn’t.

I saw Lytle’s last fight and I thought that was one of the best performances he’s ever had with just crisp, technical stand-up. He didn’t at all look like a fighter who was at the end of his career but he decided to quit while ahead and that’s respectful.

Scott Smith, on the other hand, is NOT Chris Lytle.
He seems to ENJOY getting hit and the fans who like him just want to see a brawl & they want to see blood. That’s not mmA. There’s no “A” in brawling.
There’s no Art in the way Scott Smith fights.

Smith’s fights could take place in bars and they’d basically be the same fights. The cage just happens to be there.
