Saturday’s ONE: Dynasty of Champions Undergoes Last-Minute Line-up Change

June 18, 2015

ONE: Dynasty of Champions is set for the Tianhe Gymnasium in Guangzhou on Saturday night (local time), but there is one late change to the card with Yang Jianbing joining the four-man 125-pound tournament.

For Jianbing (4-0-0-1), it represents a fast turnaround, as he made his promotional debut less than four weeks ago. The 21-year-old beat Ali Yaakub by submission, finishing the ONE: Warrior’s Quest fight with an armbar in the second round.

Jianbing replaces Ba Ya La Ga, who has withdrawn for undisclosed reasons. He will face debutant Wang Shuo in the semifinals. The tournament fights are scheduled for two rounds with the final taking place on the same night.

ONE: Dynasty of Champions is the promotion’s second event in China. It will be headlined by a featherweight bout between top Russian prospect Timofey Nastyukhin (8-1) and former Legend FC 145-pound champion Yusuke Kawanago (13-4-2).

In the co-main event, former ONE title challenger Zorobabel Moreira (7-3) goes up against England’s Christian Holley (10-1) with both lightweights looking to bounce back after suffering defeat towards the tail end of 2013.

There will be 11 fights in total with the 125-pound and 145-pound tournaments both featuring two semifinals and an alternate bout. The other match-up pits Brazilian debutant Marcos Santana against Filipino Ruel Catalan (2-5) in a flyweight contest.

The only way to watch ONE: Dynasty of Champions live is to purchase tickets and travel to Guangzhou, but the entire show will be available to view online beginning July 4 via http://oneppv.com.
