There is no doubt that Sacramento loves the WEC, and they definitely come out to support the fighters and their hometown favorite, Urijah Faber, as the numbers prove coming out of Sunday night’s show.
With 10,027 fans in attendance, the Sacramento crowd was loud and let their voices be heard in every, single fight.
The gate for the show pulled in $550,000, which is once again an impressive showing for the WEC in Sacramento. Faber’s drawing power in his hometown can’t be denied after looking at the numbers he’s pulled in for his last two fights in California’s capitol city.
The last Faber fight in Sac-Town pulled in a gate of $815,415 when he took on Mike Brown in a rematch for the WEC featherweight title. With the hometown kid now next in line for a shot at Jose Aldo’s 145lb title, that fight will be a guaranteed seller, and could even be the promotion’s main event when the go to pay-per-view later this year.
