While he was looking to finish out 2011 with a bang, it appears that Ryan Healy will not be in action again until next year.
As he told MMAWeekly.com via email, “I suffered an injury in training and had to pull out of the Dec. 3 (Score Fight Series) fight.”
Healy had been scheduled to appear on the promotion’s debut event in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, against UFC and WEC veteran John Alessio.
As it appears from a recent press release regarding the event, SFS has elected not to find a replacement for Alessio and will look to reschedule the bout in 2012. Currently the promotion has a bout between former IFL fighter Chris Clements and ex-UFC lightweight Rich Clemente as a co-headlining match with the previously announced bout between up-and-comers John Fraser and Travis Reddinger.
As for the extent of Healy’s injury, he stated. “I partially tore my ACL, so I will be out for 3-4 weeks before I can get back to training.”
Healy had won seven of nine fights, including back-to-back wins culminating with a close split-decision victory over Andrew Chappelle on Oct. 22 in SportFight.
