UFC light heavyweight Ryan Bader defeated Anthony Perosh by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 33 on Dec. 7 in Brisbane, Australia. In the process of the one-sided victory, the 30-year-old fighter suffered a broken right hand.
On Tuesday, Bader (16-4) revealed via Facebook that he’s scheduled to undergo surgery on Friday to correct the break. He also posted an x-ray photo of the break.
The typical recovery time for a broken bone is six weeks.
Bader competed three times in 2013. He submitted Vladimir Matyushenko by guillotine choke at UFC on Fox 6 in January, was knocked out by Glover Teixeira at UFC Fight Night 28 in September, and defeated Perosh in his last outing.
