Roy Nelson at the TUF 16 FinaleTwo new fights have finally been added to the upcoming UFC 159 card landing in New Jersey in late April.

Former Ultimate Fighter winner Roy Nelson will get back in action, looking to build on his last knockout win over Matt Mitrione, as he faces Cheick Kongo.

In addition to that heavyweight showdown, NCAA All-American Phil Davis will take on multi-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion Vinny Magalhaes.

Both fights were announced during Tuesday night’s broadcast of UFC Tonight.

A winner of two in a row, Roy Nelson will look to make it three straight victories when he faces Kongo at UFC 159. His challenge will be Frenchman Cheick Kongo who tries to build on his last fight at UFC 149, a win over Shawn Jordan.

Former NCAA champion Phil Davis will try to pick up his first win of 2013 when he finally returns at UFC 159. Davis originally stepped up on short notice to face former UFC champion Forrest Griffin at UFC 155, but when Griffin suffered an injury, he was pulled from the card completely.

Now Davis faces a new test in former Ultimate Fighter finalist Vinny Magalhaes, who will look to add the biggest win of his MMA career to his resume in April.

Both fights are added to the UFC 159 fight card which is headlined by UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones as he faces Chael Sonnen in the main event.

Nelson has KO power and top notch grappling skills, I think he’ll take out Congo. If he was able to last against a beating from Dos Santos he can pretty much handle anything. The Davis fight is going to be awesome. His wrestling and improving submission skills against Vinny Mags incredible submission game. That should be more of an exciting fight.

Kongo is hard to take down. Nelson does not have great wrestling.

I’m a fan of Kongo we already seen him fall victim to Frank Mir, Mark Hunt and Cain V. Nelson can take a beating so even with Cheicks world class kickboxing it may not be enough. I wouldn’t count him out if I didn’t see Roy take a beating from JDS. That guy is durable.

are you retarded? Nelson’s specialty is BJJ, trained with and got a black belt from Renzo Gracie. The only reason you haven’t seen it lately is because the last few fights have all been stand up. Try talking out of your ass more often.

Phil Davis is ranked #4. Why is he fighting a nobody? Magalhaes is not ranked or even beat anyone with some credit in the UFC yet. Phil has everything to lose and nothing to gain.

My thoughts exactly. Vinny has everything to gain and nothing to lose
