With the recent retirement and then firing of Chael Sonnen over his drug testing violations, much talk has focused on performance enhancing drugs in mixed martial arts, and the UFC in particular.

Talking about the matter at Thursday Ultimate Media Day in Las Vegas, UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, being a former Olympian, takes a much harsher look at transgressors than many other fighters do.

Rousey pointed out how much more harsh the penalties are for Olympic athletes and compared current penalties for most infractions in MMA to an unpaid vacation. In short, she thinks the penalties should be much stiffer than they are.

id rather see someone get caught on drugs than have ronda lousys poor sportsmanship attitude any day of the week.

Cheaters should be kicked out of the sport. Even worse when you cheat and still lose an insane amount of fights. Chael has one of the worst records in the sport. 14 Losses. Nowhere near champ material. Hypocrite. Liar. Cheater. Loser.

She just keeps talking and talking and….. She thinks she’s an authority on EVERYTHING! Funny how she recently claimed that she could beat any female BJJ practitioner under any rules and weight class and although several of them have accepted Rhondas challenge she has yet to respond. It really comes as no surprise though as she keeps trashing Cyborg even though Cyborg said she will fight her even without the belt at stake. Rhonda wants Cyborg to come down in weight because she is hoping that it will weaken Cyborg. The funny thing is however Rhonda has fought professionally as high as 150. She claims that people have an issue with her confidence which appears to be more like arrogance. She is a talented fighter however her mouth and attitude overshadow her skill. If she is going to continue to throw down the gauntlet and make challenges than she needs to carry them out when people accept them.

How is she different from any other fighter in any sport throughout history. They all talk an run their mouths they all have an opinion about someone or something.

As for her at 150 Your exactly right, and if you ever competed in weight classes you would know THATS THE POINT! lol

The objective in Wrestling was to wrestle at your lowest possible weight class, bc of the idea the bigger and stronger you are with the least amount of weight, gives you the edge. When you get licensed your body also gets certified to a weight class. They take into account your muscle mass fat count and i believe a few other things.

For example I wrestled at 275(the unlimited weight class) you can be any weight and wrestle there. Not too many guys from 205 ever came up but i weighed 235-240 and i was all muscle and destroying guys. I got certified at 189 though and that meant the safest least amount of weight i could lose and compete at would be 189, but dam would i be starving myself at that point. Look At Lyoto Machida, he competed at heavyweight in pride i believe a few times back in the day and now he’s down to middle weight, same concept.

So the thing with Cyborg is this, if she can get down to Rhondas weight class and prove that she can win at least a handful of fights 4-5 then she should get a shot at her. And this isn’t about her proving if she’s worthy, we all know she is. She just needs to prove she can keep making weight at that class. You don’t want Cyborg to beat her and be champ and then she keeps missing weight every time – we don’t know if she can, why have a champ that can’t legitimately stay in their weight class. And it has to be safe for her well being.

I know i wrote a lot, I’m sorry but i have some knowledge on this. I want to see that fight happen so badly and see how it goes down! :)

The reason she keeps talking is because the UFC keeps a camera on her almost 24/7. She is rammed down our throats the same way Jones was before he lost favor with Dana. Granted she is a bit of a dummy…but it’s the way of the UFC right now and we have to deal with it.
