In fact, Rousey puts so much stock in McMann’s Olympic background that she believes that background is a big part of what will bring the best out of Rousey on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
“I fight better when I have higher level competition,” she said at Thursday’s UFC 170 pre-fight press conference. “Being an Olympic athlete, you’re raised to rise to the occasion and fight above yourself when it counts.”
That could apply the same for McMann, but Rousey still believes it will be her that prevails.
