Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira spoke to MMAWeekly and the press at a recent press conference. When asked about his conditioning, the former PRIDE heavyweight champion responded, “My conditioning is great right now. I’ve been working on my wrestling. Ground and wrestling, that will be my fight style.”

Nogueira is scheduled to face the always tough former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett at Final Conflict Absolute. “In a standing battle, I need to be very careful,” Nogueira said about his opponent. “If I can get on top of him, he will not be able to beat me.”

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is currently the #2 heavyweight in the MMAWeekly Rankings, while Josh Barnett is close behind him at #4. Anticipation will be great as two of the top heavyweights in the world meet for the first time. “It will be a good fight,” added the Brazilian Top Team fighter. “We will both be very aggressive and of course I will win.”

When asked who he would face in the Grand Prix finals, Nogueira predicted Wanderlei Silva. “He is aggressive and I like his fighting spirit.”
