Robert Whittaker vs. Bradley Scott Welterweight Finale Booked for UFC on FX 6

Posted on by Andrew Potter

The final piece in the TUF Smashes: Australia vs. UK welterweight finale puzzle has been put in place with Australia’s Robert Whittaker earning his spot on the show with a strong finish in his semifinal bout with team mate Xavier Lucas.

Standing in Whittaker’s way of a UFC contract is UK’s Bradley Scott, who booked his place after a bloody war with Ben Alloway.

Before taking part in the TUF series, Whittaker built up a 9-2 record fighting in the Asia-Pacific region, and has picked up two first-round knockout wins on the show, beating Luke Newman and Xavier Lucas.

In the other corner is Bradley Scott, who currently rides a six-fight winning streak with an 8-1 record. His most recent win before the TUF series was on the CWFC Fight Night 4 card in Dubai, where he won with a third round stoppage. In the house, he has picked up decision wins over Xavier Lucas and Ben Alloway.

The fight will take place on the main card of UFC on FX 6 from the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia, on Dec. 15, 2012 (Dec. 14 in the U.S.). Headlining the card is a fight between the two TUF Smashes coaches, George Sotiropoulos and Ross Pearson.

STOP SPOILING EPISODES! it can wait a day or two to post these things.

We waited 10 or so hours after it aired in the UK. Other MMA news sites had their story up before we did, as we wanted to wait for it to air in the UK.

It airs at midnight on espn in the uk. It’s more than likely that most people have recorded the show and will watch it later. Factor in the need to sleep, go to work/school etc and 10 hours is relatively short time.

The solution is perfectly simple though, just don’t give away the result in the article headline. Just call it TUF Latest Episode Review or whatever, then people can choose to read it or not. This has happened on several occasions on both the current seasons of TUF on this website and a few people have complained about it. Would you rather we didn’t visit the site until we’ve viewed the episode?
