Rick Story at UFC 139
Add another Brazilian to the upcoming UFC 153 card headed to Rio de Janeiro as Demian Maia takes his second fight at welterweight against Rick Story.

Story announced the fight via Twitter on Tuesday.

“I’m fighting Demain Maia in Rio!” Story proclaimed on his page.

Story will look to build upon his last win where he defeated UFC newcomer Brock Jardine at UFC on FX 4. Prior to that fight, Story had dropped two fights in a row, and now looks to gain some standing back in the welterweight division.

Meanwhile former UFC middleweight contender Demian Maia looks to continue his venture into the 170lb division after a successful debut over Dong Hyun Kim at 148.

Maia vs. Story is the latest bout added to the growing UFC 153 fight card.

    feed Maia da chumps.
Story is screwed unless he can pull a Marquardt.

I disagree. Story is underrated. He has wins over johnny Hendricks, Jake Ellenberger, thiago alves, Dustin hazlet. Never been submitted or ko’d. Not saying he will win but this is a good fight.

Yup this should be hell of a fight..but don`t count Story out of it. If he`s able to utilise the powerfull bodyshots he`s known for Maia is in for a great slugfest

    Story is no chump

OK you’re right, I retract the “chump” statement.
elguapo, (below) I think you nailed it. He (Maia) didn’t stand and trade in his last fight at all which people seem to think is boring but it wins Maia fights. I bet he’s going to do that again against Story, who is a good fighter but I don’t think he can deal with Maia JJ. I too hope Maia gets back to what he does best..

  • elguapo

Really difficult fight to call. Story always seems to do well against those he’s not meant to beat, and then let’s you down against those he’s meant to beat. I’d like to see Maia go back to his BJJ roots and fight like he did when he first came to the UFC.

Story wins this, and it will be fast.
