Rich Franklin at UFC 93Former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin isn’t focused on fighting these days. Instead, the Ohio native has been juicing. Typically fighters juicing is frowned upon, but not the way Franklin juices.

The 39-year-old recently turned down a fight with Antonio Rogerio Nogueira set to take place in his hometown of Cincinnati. UFC president Dana White told UFC Tonight that he doesn’t think Franklin wants to fight right now because he’s focused on his juice bar company.

Late last year, Franklin opened ZeLin Juice and Fusion Café in Beverly Hills. Nutrition has always been important to the former champion, and he’s applying that to life and business outside of fighting.

Zelin Juice and Fusion Café offers organic, raw and unrefined cold pressed juices, fresh made juices, smoothies, superfood smoothies, tonic lattes, teas, acai bowls, shots and assorted gluten-free and vegan pastries.

Franklin expressed interest in fighting again in 2013, but building his juice bar brand has put those plans on hold. He last competed on Nov. 12, 2012, losing to Cung Le by first-round knockout. It’s unclear if Franklin will fight again, but he hasn’t officially stated that he’s retired.

I thought they meant he was juicing on steroids lmao

When i read the title i thought the article was going to be about Rich being on some weird juice fasting diet that had made him loose a ton of weight and unable to compete at that weight class. lol

Im pretty sure theyve used this headline before when talking about rich and the phrasing threw ppl off last time too. The article is on this page. But who would seriously be like “No, I dont want the fight. I love steroids too much”. Its pretty funny. I would like to see rich fight one more time cause hes one of my favorites. I dont wanna see him go out like he did against cung le. That was brutal.

Great fighter in his time as champ and one of the most nicest guys in MMA. Met him years ago and talked to me like he knew me for years.

Franklin deserves better than fighting Lil Nog anyways. Lil Nog is a fight-card killer!

I like Franklin, but I believe he is effectively retired. I think the only reason he doesn’t make it official is to promote his product. His name has more panache as “UFC fighter”, than as “Former UFC Fighter”.
