Rich Clementi Becomes the Latest Fighter To Accept Bout Against Shinya Aoki in Dream

In the past few weeks Shinya Aoki has had possibly the most opponent changes in fight history.

And now it’s happened again.

Literally hours after former UFC fighter Shane Nelson was rumored to step in and face Shinya Aoki at Dream’s ‘Fight for Japan’ show, he’s been pulled and instead Rich Clementi will claim the spot.

Dream representative Mike Kogan first announced the switch on Twitter.

The revolving door of opponents has now swung from Willamy Freire, who was pulled when he couldn’t secure a visa, to Antonio McKee then to Jamier Varner and back to McKee.

McKee was then forced out of the fight due to his own visa issues. Then Shane Nelson got an offer and accepted the fight before Clementi became the latest choice.

Obviously with the amount of bout agreements that have been issued so far in this fight, until someone arrives in Japan and is announced at the show, there are no guarantees that Rich Clementi will be the final choice.

Right now, however, he is the current choice to face Aoki.

Aoki via whatever he wants. Isn’t Rich coming off a loss to some nobody?

I personally would have preferred McKee. He’s probably the most known as far as opponent.

Fighting a washed-up fighter like “Gay voice” Clementi won’t do anything for Aoki’s career. It’s just another “W” on his record.
