The trend of positive drug tests in mixed martial arts continues as former UFC and WSOF welterweight title contender Jon Fitch reportedly failed a pre-fight test for his WSOF 16 title fight against Rousimar Palhares. first reported the news. The California State Athletic Commission confirmed on Friday that Fitch was flagged for an “adverse result,” but the commission didn’t disclose what substance the 36-year-old was flagged for in the results.

WSOF 16 took place at the McClellan Conference Center in Sacramento, Calif. on Dec. 13. Fitch (26-7-1, 1 NC) fell victim to Palhares’ leg lock submission game, tapping out to a knee bar in the opening round of the fight card’s main event.

Fitch faces a one-year suspension and a $2,500 fine. He can appeal the commission’s findings during a future CSAC hearing.

Maybe Fitch can also blame the ufc for that and sue them a 2nd time.

Why are these guys failing pre-fight tests and still being allowed to fight? Maybe the WSoF should file a class action lawsuit against Fitch now.

if the COMMISSION ever TESTED me, all THEY would find is SPERM in my belly.

Dan you knocked this one out of the park LOL

If I had a button that allowed 100 upvotes for you I would press it

Fitch will probably say it’s a conspiracy by UFC trying to ruin him

…Don’t worry Im sure that law suit he made up with other guys will cover that. In the end, Im sure it was because UFC somehow forced him to do it.

Im die hard Fitch fan, but this thing is ridiculous…Come on, Jon, get your s&^t together, man :/

These guys need to find another way to make money… I feel a guy like Fitch was probably clean for the majority of his career… Then he started lagging a bit in training, feeling old, and felt this was his only option, and since so many other are doing it… Why not me? Not excusing it, because he should find another way to earn income then cheating. If you wana juice, great, don’t punch people in the face for a living.

Maybe he was just looking for even playing ground on Palhares:p

Fitch was his own worst enemy. Didn’t play the game. He came from nothing. Homeless. Vagabond. Built himself up, trained hard, relentless work ethic. But damn, that kid never knew how to play the game. Was not a company man and is now left high and dry. If he’s cool with that, then fine. But if he’s penniless (relatively speaking) in the coming years, he’s only himself to blame.

No way UFC would have cut him (a top 10 fighter at the time) had he worked better with them, and worked harder to make himself a more marketable commodity.

First time I saw a picture of Fitch’s sister I didn’t think they looked much alike until she turned her head×168/16439_54c901d7275b4.png
