This is just stupid….a fighter at the end of his career should be fighting more often to make the most of his time….not once every year or year and a half…not to mention this is a weak division still…and you have 2 of the guys that are top 10 that you are going to have to sit out of competition for prob the next 5-7 months….just wow. How about take some guys from a deeper division like WW, LW, or LHW and make them coaches and bring in some new blood into either FlyW, FW, BW, MW or HW…..that would make sense instead of flooding divisions that are deep already….right? I just hope this season doesn’t focus on weight classes that don’t need fighters like they keep doing….

No one wants to see that fight. Werdum should be fighting the likes of Cain Velaskes, Daniel Cormier for title contention. Nogueira is still many fights away from deserving a title shot.
Both fighters share the same fan base. Bad matchmaking.

nice butcher job on that name there buddy hah but i agree i would have liked to see em in with a bit better fighter.and i dont think fan bases really matter in match making but having the same fan base wouldnt hurt if anything it will guarantee some buys.

They should have a Brasil vs USA tuf season. They could even bring in Josh Barnett as a coach.

i think werdum realizes that even though he is deserving of being in title talks that the ufc will more likely go the route of overeem and cormier as challengers over the next year. he’s not really losing anything by taking a winnable fight against a name with added exposure via tuf
