The July 7 UFC 148 fight card continues to grow minute-by-minute. The latest addition is a bantamweight battle between Renan Barão and Jeff Hougland, two fighters on unbelievable unbeaten streaks.
Barão (28-1 with 1 no contest) hasn’t lost a fight since the first bout of his career in 2005. The No. 3 ranked 135-pounder in the world has won 28 straight, save for one no contest sandwiched in the midst of all those fights.
Barão enters the fight coming off of back-to-back wins over two other Top 10 ranked bantamweights in Scott Jorgensen and Brad Pickett.
Hougland (10-4) has won nine consecutive bouts, also dating back to 2005. His most recent victory was over Donny Walker in his Octagon debut at UFC 132 last July.
Now, returning from injury, he hopes to restart his UFC career and launch himself into the Top 10 with a win over Barão.
UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz defends his belt against Urijah Faber in the UFC 148 main event on July 7 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
