Rashad Evans: I Have An Amazing Record for Having the Worst Chin in the World

Rashad Evans answers back to Jon Jones’ recent statement that he had a questionable chin, and really has no idea where that idea came from.

Evans’ record reads only one loss against Lyoto Machida, which was by knockout, but outside of that the former champion hasn’t been put down and out in a fight.

The former light heavyweight king also talks about all the hype and all the talk leading into this fight at UFC 145 in Atlanta. Was it too much?

Check out what Rashad Evans had to say just 48 hours away from his showdown with Jon Jones:

  • TKD

I’d like to see Jones throw a fist right thru Retard’s chin. Hell, a choke out would be ok too. Either way, Retard loses this fight!

    • Lesnardo

Didn’t Rashad almost get knocked out by Rampage and Thiago Silva? He was about to go to sleep.

      Dear Jon Jones:

Please stop talking smack on Rashad. Everyone knows that you are better than him. You are just a better fighter all around. You don’t have to pin point exact weaknesses in Rashad’s game.

Just say, “I am just a better fighter than Rashad,” without going into details like “Rashad has weak stand up” or “Rashad as a weak chin.”

      • jamesstenbeck

He’s better than someone who’s seven inches smaller than he is.

        Big deal!

        • TKD

@ jamesstenbeck: That might be the biggest p*ssy statement ever made!! So, if Retard loses, it is because he is smaller. However, if he wins, size won’t be a factor. What a crock of sh*t!

      • fjc1113

Almost doesn’t count. A lit of people get knocked out against rampage and silva but rashad isn’t in that category. I’m no rashad fan but you can’t discount his wins cuz he “almost” hit knocked out

  • Danbo23

looks like these nutt huggers are back

    • Lesnardo

Picking someone with extremely high probability of winning to win is not nut-hugging.

Picking someone with extremely low probability of winning, rooting for that person, and calling people that are not picking that person to win….is nuthugging.

      • philmckracken

Yeah… Looks like yall offended someone that enjoys tugging on Rashad’s pee-pee

      • shereko

Great point! Rashad doesn’t have much of a chance, Jones will destroy him… kind of like in a battle of trash talk, Jones just shouldn’t play that game he’ll just not look good doing it. Ohh and I don’t see Rashad getting whooped by Shogun. Maybe Machida and questionable by Henderson.

        • Lesnardo

Shogun hasn’t looked good against Hendo so I see where you are going.

And Shogun’s takedown defense is questionable, although he has great sweeps from the guard.

Actually, at this point, you might to right. Rashad might lay and hump Shogun for 5 rounds.

      • Danbo23

you D**k face every article that is about jones vs rashad yous nutthuggers are hating on rashad and huggin on jone’s saggy nutts

  • julianmoran

    It’s called lay and pray.

Rashad will never beat the likes of Dan Henderson, Shogun, Machida, Jones.

    • jamesstenbeck

But if Rashad moves down to middleweight he wouldn’t have to lay and pray.

Try to imagine, for example, how a Rashad Evans-Rousimar Palhares fight would play out.

  • Crooklyn From TapouT Radio

Rashad doesn’t have a change? That is just ridiculous. It’s a fight! When two people decide to fight, there is always a chance of winning or losing. Last time I checked Rashad only had one loss. I think Jones will beat him, but to say he doesn’t have a chance is just foolish. Okay he got rocked by Ramage. Rampage knocked everyone silly, but he still beat Rampage. He got rocked by Silva. Silva knocks out a lot of people, but he still beat Silva.

It is going to be a good fight. Rashad has the one element that Jones has not face yet, “Speed.” That is one thing you CANT train for. If Rashad beat Jones I would not be surprised…

    • http://www.bloodyfists.net/forums/index.php SHORT_BUS

      Well said Miss Crooklyn.

    • vzxccxvddscvsd

Sorry but Machida is faster than Evans with a far slickerstyle. Evans speed won’t be an issue

      • johnnybooker

Disagree. Speed can also facilitate a take down. I want to see Jones respond to Evans laying on top of him and dropping elbows. Not a fan of Evans but sick of the look on Jones’ face. Hoping for a Rocky II ending personally…without the 1 minute slow-mo ring climb.

        • Lesnardo

I’ve never seen Rashad effectively G&P any decent fighter.

    • Lesnardo

      “Rashad doesn’t have a change?”

Dude! For the 100th time, Rashad does have a chance. That chance is about 10%.

NO ONE HERE THINKS RASHAD HAS ZERO % CHANCE. EVERYONE HERE AGREES THAT HE HAS A CHANCE, ALBEIT VERY SLIM.

  • fightfankevin

I agree with Rashad. One knockout doesnt make him have a questionable chin. And while it might be true he could have gotten rocked a few times in other fights, his recovering and winning those fights shows a strong chin, not a weak one.

    • TKD

I agree that Retard hasn’t shown a weak chin. Nonetheless, Jones will beat him, and it will be decisively.

  • mmachoman

If Jones throws a kick, Rashad better grab it and drive forward like he’s never driven before!

  • jamesstenbeck

The word will be out on Rashad’s chin after Jones KO’s him standing up in the first round.

Then Rashad will go on a long, long losing streak, after which you will find him on the same kind of circuits that Tim Sylvia and Jeremy Horn are currently fighting for.

    • TKD

      Couldn’t AGREE more!

    • Lesnardo

Unless he sucks up to Dana like Forrest and Stephan Bonnar.

In that case, he doesn’t have to fight in minor leagues like Tim Sylvia (who btw LEFT the UFC rather than getting CUT).

I just want Rashad (perhaps the most boring bland fighter in the LHW division) to GTFO.

In his place I want to see King MO and Mousasi.

  • zacharydetal

I don’t understand all the hype surrounding Jon Jones. He couldn’t even beat Matt Hammil…..JK

    • Lesnardo

      lol.

For a sec I thought you were serious.

  • jonnypatrick

Lesnardo you really are a douche bag… Sucking up to Dana like Forrest & Stephan Bonnar…. Are you serious? If it weren’t for them we wouldn’t be watching 40 UFC events this year. How long have you been watching the UFC? The fight between the two of them was epic, one of the best fights to date.

    • Lesnardo

      Fight between them wasn’t epic.

I watched the UFC from its inception. Then I switched over to PRIDE. Then I started watching both about a year or so before the merger.

Forrest vs Bonnar was classic to only one person and his group of followers. Dana White is that person. TUF noobs are his followers.

Sorry breh. I was too busy watching real MMA like the PRIDE MW GP.

“Without them we wouldn’t be watching 40 UFC events this year?” That’s the stuff that comes out of Dana’s arse. Why is that coming out of your mouth? Where has your mouth been?

  • MaritalArtist

I think people will be surprised by this fight. 10% my ass!

  • jonnypatrick

I can’t stand Rashad but i’m rooting for him tomorrow. I don’t buy into the size advantage too much with the weight limit, but it plays a role in the fight. If you think having a 10″ reach advantage won’t factor into a fight you are crazy. If Jones has the same level of boxing as Rashad with his reach Rashad shouldn’t be able to land punch. I think Rashad will exploite Jones tomorrow night and let people see that he is not the next Anderson Silva.

  • Lesnardo

OKAY…ALL YOU COWARDS. LET’S DO THIS. I AM SICK OF ARGUING OVER ONLINE.

IF RASHAD WINS THEN I WILL DO THE FOLLOWING: (A) ADMIT THAT I AM AN MMA NOOB BY POSTING A COMMENT ON THIS SITE TO THAT EFFECT AND (B) I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS BOARD AGAIN.

HOWEVER, IF JONES WINS, YOU HAVE TO DO THE SAME.

    WHO WILL TAKE ME ON???

    • McWilly

Lestardo, Your an idiot! No one is arguing that Jones doesn’t have advantage, the arguments are your moronic comments.

To only give 10% chance to any top contender in their respective weight class is dumb. Its simple math Bro.

Calling people cowards for posting there opinion is asinine, especially when your doing the same. All Caps is juvenile at best.

Bonnar vs Forrest was a pivotal moment for the growth of MMA, it was statistically proven with its mass media attention and 1st season growth and finale fight ratings…. that is a fact! Fan-boy or not, with out growth there is no Professional MMA. A true fan can appreciate those moments.

To claim your the real deal because you “watched real MMA, Pride” is ridiculous. Im not taking anything away from Pride. They were a forefront to Pro MMA but to claim someones opinion was less for watching the UFC fights is dumb, you watch UFC too! No one here commented that they didnt watch or love the Pride days. Fanboy vs a true fan because they watched Pride before the MMA Mass popularity growth is played out and a plain cop-out.

  • claudeballs

Rashad definitely doesn’t have a weak chin, he’s only been KO’d once. Getting rocked in a fight by the likes of Rampage or Silva and staying in the fight and coming back implies a strong chin and great heart. Rashad has also fought at Heavyweight and taken punches from a 6’7″ 260lb. combatant. Anywho, I want the black guy to win, hopefully it’s an exciting fight.

  • TTOKC

I think there’s probably about a 1% chance of my preferred ending to this fight.. simultaneous knockout.

  • somecokehead

RASHAD EVANS WIN BY KNOCK OUT… 1ST ROUND – UNDER 30 SECONDS. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST!!! JONES WILL DEMAND REMATCH. BIG MONEY TO BE WON HERE FOLKS
