It never seems to take UFC matchmaker Joe Silva long to find replacements, and he’s found one already to face George Sotiropoulos at UFC 132.
Just hours after the news came out that Evan Dunham was out of the fight due to injury, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Rafael Dos Anjos has stepped in to fight Sotiropoulos on the July 2 fight card.
The UFC announced the switch late Tuesday evening.
It’s been several months since Dos Anjos has seen action in the Octagon. In his last fight, he suffered a broken jaw at the hands of Clay Guida at UFC 117. Prior to that loss, Dos Anjos had won three fights in a row including a submission victory over Terry Etim at UFC 112.
The UFC did not announce if the new fight between Dos Anjos and Sotiropoulos would remain on the main card or not.
