For this week only, MMAWeekly’s SoundOff is on the air at 6:30pm PST / 9:30pm EST. The show will still be an hour long, but will be half and hour behind the usual start time.
Due to matters beyond our control, Matt Lindland was unable to join us for his scheduled appearance on Monday, so he will be on the air tonight to kick off the show. Following Lindland will be International Fight League co-founder Garub Shamus.
Lindland has been destroying his competition lately, rising to the number one in the middleweight division of MMAWeekly’com’s Top Ten Rankings. His new Portland Wolfpack team in the IFL has also been doing well; they’ll be fighting Thursday night in the semi-finals of the World Team Championships. Lindland will be on to talk about his IFL experience’s thus far, his team’s chances in the league, his own future, and the rumors about him being offered a return spot in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Along with Kurt Otto, Shamus formed the IFL with the idea of an entirely new concept for mixed martial arts, making it a team sport on par with other professional sports leagues such as the National Football League, Major League Baseball, and the National Basketball Association. Most longtime followers of the sport scoffed at their initial idea, but many are now being won over by the concept. Hear what Shamus has to say about the league’s first year and it’s future.
The radio show is on Live for free at 6:30pm PST / 9:30 EST at www.MMAWeeklyRadio.com. If you can’t listen live, you can sign up for the MMAWeekly Premium Membership for just 5 bucks a month to get complete access to the Radio and Video Archives.
