Nate Quarry and Tim Credeur have verbally agreed to fight at UFC Fight Night 19 on Sept. 16 in Oklahoma City, Okla. Though pen to paper has yet to take place, sources tell MMAWeekly.com that should happen in the coming days.
The possibility of the bout was first reported by MMAJunkie.com, and subsequently confirmed by MMAWeekly.com.
A cast member of the inaugural season of The Ultimate Fighter, Nate Quarry has stumbled only once since returning from career threatening back surgery. Amassing a record of 3-1 following the surgery, his only loss was to undefeated submission wizard Demian Maia. His most recent action was a first round stoppage of Jason MacDonald at UFC 97.
An alumnus of the seventh season of The Ultimate Fighter, Credeur has yet to lose in the Octagon. He is 3-0 in the UFC and 12-2 overall. At this point in his career, a victory of Quarry would likely propel Credeur onto the short list of contenders fighting for a shot at UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
The UFC on Tuesday announced that UFC Fight Night 19 will feature a bout between Nate Diaz and Melvin Guillard, as well as the return of Roger Huerta, who will face undefeated lightweight Melvin Guillard.
