Two of the best young prospects in the sport have agreed to meet at UFC 140 in Toronto with former Cornell wrestler John Cholish meeting Edmonton Fighter of the Year Mitch Clarke in a lightweight bout on the card.

Sources close to the match-up confirmed that the fight has been verbally agreed to by both fighters, but bout agreements have not been issued just yet.

MMAWeekly.com first profiled John Cholish in Dec 2010 as the former wrestler turned stockbroker has dedicated his life to two separate passions and occupations.

Cholish still works full time in New York City as a stockbroker, but also trains with the team at Renzo Gracie’s in Manhattan and now he will get his shot in the UFC.

7-1 as a pro, Cholish has won his last seven fights in a row including submissions over former TUF competitor Marc Stevens and former WEC fighter Jameel Massouh.

Opposing Cholish in his UFC debut will be fellow Octagon newcomer Mitch Clarke (9-0) who gets his first fight in the promotion in his home country of Canada.

Clarke has been regarded as one of the top prospects in Canada and has been on the UFC’s watch list for some time. Now he will make his move to the world’s biggest MMA promotion with hopes of similar success that he’s tasted thus far in his career.

The two lightweights will square off in Toronto for the UFC’s return to Ontario’s capital city. The first event in Toronto pulled in over 55,000 fans to the Rogers Centre for UFC 129.
