MMAWeekly’s Scott Petersen is live in Japan, bringing you full coverage of the Pride Shockwave pre-fight press conference featuring Fedor Emelianenko and Mark Hunt, who will fight for Emelianenko’s Pride Heavyweight Title.
There was much speculation as to whether or not Fedor Emelianenko, the world’s #1 Heavyweight in the MMAWeekly Rankings, was going to be able to fight on the Pride Shockwave card following a reported broken toe suffered in training. Unless something drastic happens in the next few hours, both Fedor and Hunt are ready to do battle. Hunt is the #9 Heavyweight in the MMAWeekly Rankings.
Fedor and Hunt were both in attendance at the Shockwave pre-fight press conference, as were the other fighters scheduled to battle on the New Year’s Eve show tonight in Japan. The American broadcast takes place half a day later on tape delay in the United States on December 31st.
With so many tremendous mixed martial arts events this weekend, everyone can’t be everywhere, but MMAWeekly Executive Editor Scott Petersen is in Japan bringing you live coverage of the show and its surrounding activities.
