Both stepping onto foreign soil, Brazilian Paulo Thiago will serve as the welcoming committee to Afghan fighter Siyar Bahadurzada when they square off at UFC on Fuel TV 2 on April 14 in Stockholm, Sweden.
Thiago and Bahadurzada were both already scheduled for bouts, but each had to drop out due to injury.
Thiago (14-3) last set foot in the Octagon at UFC 134 in August, where he defeated David Mitchell. He was expected to face Mike Pyle at UFC 142 in the promotion’s return to Rio before having to withdraw due to an elbow injury.
Bahadurzada (20-4-1) has a wealth of experience, but has fight for the better part of his career in Holland and Japan. He was initially planning on making his Octagon debut at UFC 142, facing Erick Silva. After dropping out of that fight with an unspecified injury, Bahadurzada will instead debut against Thiago in Sweden.
