ONE FC’s 2015 schedule is starting to come together with the first three cards of the year confirmed and main events booked for both Kuala Lumpur on March 13 and Manila on April 24.

First up is ONE FC: Age of Champions, which takes place at Stadium Putra in the Malaysian capital next month and will be headlined by a flyweight title bout between defending champion Adriano Moraes and promotional newcomer Asuka Mikami.

Moraes (12-1) is one of the most dominant fighters on the roster and will be returning to the scene of his sole defeat, a controversial split decision loss at the hands of Yusup Saadulaev, to take on Mikami (11-2-2), who has not lost a fight since 2009.

In April, the promotion returns to the Philippines for a card at the SM Mall of Asia Arena that will be headlined by a welterweight title match between undefeated US Olympian Ben Askren and Brazilian veteran Luis Santos.

Askren (14-0) is one of the biggest stars on the ONE FC roster and a former Bellator FC champion, who has run through the welterweight division in both organizations, but will be up against the best striker he has ever faced in the experienced Santos (61-9-1).

The third event announced will be taking place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on May 22 and titled ONE FC: Warrior’s Quest, but no information about the fight card was available at the time of this writing.

It’s a good matchup. This will test Ben. One thing that bothers me is the trend now leads to once a month event for most and maybe two for a few. It’s unbelievable they postponed the one in Jakarta and of course China event in February. The evident is so clear that it won’t be 10 events in mainland China this year. I estimate max is 4 but i would say 2. I hope one fc learns from this, and I understand that sometimes things are outside their control when it comes to sponsors etc. Unfortunate, they are definitely not going to be doing 24 events but rather more realistically around 14 if that’s lucky. It’s time not to make announcements in advance when circumstances beyond their control may contradict it. One FC needs to move forward and beyond, because the one thing it has that many combat fans favor is exciting and entertaining fights.

Ben’s wrestling is so gd his opppnent’s striking ability wouldn’t matter. Santos better make sure his takedown def is ready. One fc has no worthy opponent for him thus far.
